i’m not really sure how i came across jacob banks’ music but i know that i haven’t stopped listening to it since i did; it’s addicting. when you listen to it, you feel the music, the emotion, you can see it (yeah, i’m going there)- there is this visual aspect in it that is really indescribable, which is what i think makes you want to keep hitting repeat. today he released his latest ep- the boy who cried freedomand had a chat with nylon about his inspirations, aspirations and sound . you can read the full interview here.
in love with this gal. today she gave us a little taste of what to expect from her live at urchin studios album by releasing “for you”; the single off of the album. you can pre-order her album on itunes or listen to the single on spotify as part of my music monday playlist. for this playlist i’ve put together some tunes that i’ve been listening to lately… some old some new some rock and some blues. happy monday!
i just received my first package from vnyl and it’s everything i dreamed it would be. with my vinyl membership, i get records delivered right to my doorstep! i decided to go for the trio plan, where i’ll be receiving 3 records every month.
how it works: each month you choose a vibe. based on the music preferences listed on your profile, one of vnyl’s curators will hand pick your albums according to that month’s vibe. last month i chose the #courtneybarnett vibe, which included the iron and wine and grouper albums. this month’s vibe is #daydreaming and i can’t wait to see what shows up!
